If you have been to HOBOlink lately [link] you may have noticed that the humidity reading is absurdly low, down to 15% while it was raining. Robin Harvey disconnected the defective humidity gauge, so it now reads zero, and will replace it.
If you haven't been to HOBOlink lately, you should take a look. There is a wealth of information about our local weather displayed on graphs showing today, last week or last month. You can even download spreadsheets with much older data, as Robin does to model the lake level. Members of the Board of Trustees met with Tom Brobst to evaluate the health of the LMBC trees. See the Board meeting summary here for more details.
Two stations were installed, one at each end of the lake and near a trash container. Take one or two bags and store them in your pocket so you are ready when your dog is ready.
Check out this information under Forms/Info about walking Lake Minterwood. There's a map and distances so you can figure out how far you walked. (The shortest distance around the lake is 1.23 miles.) This page came from a 2009 newsletter, so it is a bit dated. For example, we now have a poop bag dispenser at the beach.
On the "blog pages" - Recent Events, Lake Status, and this page - you can make comments, and we will try to respond. For example, regarding the fish plant, you may wonder why we don't plant bass along with trout or instead of trout, as bass tolerate warm water much better. That's a very good question, one we are thinking about. When we have an answer, we'll post it.
The Board of Trustees is seeking a member to serve as a volunteer on the Playground Committee to help with upgrading our 20 year old equipment. If you have kids who use the playground or have some ideas on what we should do, please join us. Contact Robyn McGilvrey at 225-6485.
